"Never let your wife re-organize, re-arrange or do anything else with your tying table, desk or whatever you use. You won't be able to find a damn thing." ( Jody thought she would help me out this morning!)
Examples: My spools of thread are now in drawers in pretty little boxes. I had them on top of my desk on a big 4"X4" redwood block with brass welding rods spaced in three rows across the entire width of the bloc. The rods were tall enough for 4 spools each. All my fly tying tools are also now in boxes. I had them hanging on a beartuful copper welding rod stuck into each end of my spool block, with the horizontal part of the welding rod a few inches above the spools. I could hand all my scissors, bobbins, etc. from it. Needless to say, I didn't say a thing except to thank her. It looks like a small roll top desk now, with no hint that it houses a plethora of fly tying stuff. Gimme a couple of weeks and I'll have it back like it was anyway.
I guess all is not a total loss, though. At least I now know where my dubbing and beads are! :-P
Enjoy your tying desk while you can my friend!
