And I will have with me some rods with snakes and some with single foods. <G>
Only 4 weeks to go.

Rene,
Most of what I feel about the guides is a personal thing. As I said, I am from the old school. If I can cast a snake guide rod to my limit and place the fly where I want it, it does not concern me weather the line hits the rod or not . On the fwd cast the line is riding on the guides and not the rod as I see it. Maybe I am not understanding what you are saying, I guess it would be up against the rod before the line turns. What is more importent to me is the placement of the guides.
I have made several rods for clients and one for myself with single foot guides. I can see no real improvement over the single foot rod and the snake guide rods made on the same blanks. I don't like wrapping single foot guides, the ones that have the "arrow head" foot are hard to get a good finish wrap at the ring. The ones with the straight foot have a tendency to slide out of the wrap. I have replaced and wrapped them on a number of rods.
I am no expert on this, I just like what I like.
I will be using my Single foot rod when you are here next month. See I am not predigest.
Yes Mark W, I do still use plastic rods.
LOL
