Repairs ..yes, sometimes, although "modification" might be a better word.  Some dry-fly bodies can become wet flies with the addition of a soft hackle if the dry fly hackle was the only casualty of a fish chewing on it.  And some nymphs get a few wood duck flank fibers added to become caddis pupae.
 
Any with dull hook points (or broken points) get the exposed metal clipped off - the bodies (if size 16-14-12) then get tied to the ends of leader tippet for fly-tying classes - students seem to like it better than a piece of yarn, and they have to tie on their own "fly".
 
The rest are in that "waiting for a rainy day" jar ... waiting to be rescued and re-used.  About 22 years worth in there!!
