Don and all, the technique shown me by the Beattys was using a "spin-rope" dubbed technique, not yarn. The advantage they explained to me was that this gave one the option of changing colors as one went along and incorporating a piece of Krystal flash. You can even use Krystal flash with the dubbing on it (it being the central thread) to make wonderful Mayfly tails. Since they showed me this many years ago, all my Poopahs are made with this technique..I never buy chenille for these. You can also spin the dubbing on a tiny copper wire, then furl that for a tail..try it..it works. Good you reminded us of this technique. Joyce
