It might be worth contacting the company about your sili skin experience. We got some bad batches here also of the pearl sili skin. It was only in the thin version but it was very difficult to get off the backing and it tended to snap back on itself like a rubberband when you finally did pry it free. Which resulted in it getting all stuck together. :( I use it just for the bodies of my flies and I put a marabou tail with flash on the back of the hook.
