I received a couple of sheets to play with, and though I had mixed feelings about the stuff (it felt like I was reinventing plastic lures and twisters), and still not consider it "real" flytying (whatever that may be), the stuff does make a nice baitfish. If I have time I'll put some pix on my webpage this weekend.

It might be worth contacting the company about your sili skin experience.
We got some bad batches here also of the pearl sili skin. It was only in
the thin version but it was very difficult to get off the backing and it
tended to snap back on itself like a rubberband when you finally did pry it
free. Which resulted in it getting all stuck together. :( I use it just
for the bodies of my flies and I put a marabou tail with flash on the back
of the hook.

No, I haven't wanted to pay the price, either

There has to be something out there. I bit the bullet and bought a couple

of

colors, but I wasted an entire sheet of the pearl because it wouldn't peel
off the backing without stretching completely out of recognition. The

green

and blue worked fine ! I like the "flies", but it's too expensive to play
with. I also wonder about the durability of the "Gummy Minnow". I think
they'd be a "One fly, One fish " on Reds or Specks. Maybe you'd get a

couple

of Bass on one before it was torn up.
It's a great idea. It's a flyfish " Sluggo" which is one of the best Bass
lures ever made. Maybe when the novelty wears off, the material price will
get more realistic.

BTW. I tie my Hula Poppers with stacked deer hair. Faster, prettier and
cheaper that foam or balsa!!!!!
