My husband is going off to work so I will try my best to write his
explaination..... The ones I've seen by the residential homes were in
danger of erosion so they put stones and chicken wire covering them. He
told me the cement ones I've seen were turned into a park. The water was
rerouted to not flow through them. I think I've seen cement ones in town
also. They were also near a park and bridge though. As you get further out
of town he informed me that the old arroyos are made from dirt and would
resemble a dry creek bed on the bottom of a deep ditch. He did say in LA
that they are cement. I think I've seen them used in movies. Maybe Chris
can chime in here also. I'm guessing from his explaination the arroyos by
Jimi are dirt and gravel.
