I just picked up a bunch of the old Herters hooks that were made for popper bodies. They still sell similar hooks but these came in really small sizes also. I'm going to make them into poppers for Bass and Bluegills out of small corks. You can cheat and buy the small bottle stopper style of cork already close to popper shape at the craft or hardware stores and cut a flat bottom and groove and you're ready to paint. I also have a whole bag of wine corks here to work with. Iain Short shapes them with sand paper and a drill to make floats (very cool things). I stay away from power tools with the kids around distracting me it could get messy. :) Hopefully he will see this thread and explain how he does it.
