A misconception about CdL feathers is that there is only one type. In
fact there are 10 named colour variations, 5 browns and 5 grays. Refer
to Darrel Martin's Fly-Tying Methods for details. I wrote about this
some 5 years ago in the second issue of The Canadian Fly Fisher wrt the
current Whiting product which, at least at that time, came in (roughly)
two of the named variations. One which I could roughly match is what we
would call a Golden Badger and the Spanish call Indio Rubion.
Although it would be valuable to change the characteristics of the
existing colours, I would like to see Dr. Tom increase the number of
available colours.
