I've been a member on this list almost since I started tying. When I first
started this list was a godsend to me. It costs less than a subscription
to a flytying magazine and you can't ask a question to the magazine and get
an instant answer. As I progressed in my tying I made contacts on this list
that I never would've had the opportunity to meet. Some of them live
overseas and have taught me different tying techniques and history I hadn't
seen here. Everyone has been so generous in sharing their flies and their
knowledge. Even though I have never met many of them their emails are
always a very welcome part of my day.
If you participate on any other lists you will know how nice this list is.
There aren't any pretentious people on this list (Don O really did invent
fishing and everything fishing related) and none of the flaming you see on
some of the other lists I've visited.
I know Byard has done many upgrades on his server to support all our traffic
and keep us up and running so we don't lose contact with our extended
family. Some of who really are dependant on getting their fix of daily
emails.... cough cough* Jimmy..... <VBG>
