We've had several discussions since the new Boy Scout Fly Fishing Merit Badge was approved by National Council, BSA last year. I already know that some of you have registered with your council as a Fly Fishing Merit Badge Instructor. You know me and my occasional surveys. Well, here's another one. If you're actively involved with your council and are an active Fly Fishing Merit Badge Instructor, I'd like to know just how many of you on the VFB, FFW and HCFF email lists are teaching kids to fly fish and tie flies.
When you answer me, please do it "OFF LIST, so we don't clutter up things. When I have this compiled, I'll let the lists know how many MB instructors we have. I'd suspect that it will be quite a few. For those of you who are serious FFMB instructors for your Scout Council and reply to me, I have something nice for you.
I'd also like to know how many Scouts you currently have in your MB class or how many you had last year and how many you expect to teach in 2004. This will be valuable to me as I compile my survey information and will give me an idea of the contributions that members of our email lists are making to help provide a quality program for Scouts in their Scout Councils.
Best,
JIMMY D
