Hi Gang,

Just wondering how many Eagle, King, Queen Scouts that we have on the lists.  Might pose an interesting swap.  I would also think that a goodly number of you got your start in fly fishing / tying in the Scouts. I well remember my Scoutmaster George Morris, born in England and his "Fly of the Month" club, where he'd demonstrate how to tie a fly and then we'd work on it for a month using our Herter's Fly Tying Kits and then bring it to the meeting a month later for his approval.  This was 55 years ago and I well remember my frustration with my first fly, a Quill Gordon, tied using Mom's sewing thread, a bream hook and feathers I'd wrestled from my prize Bantam Rooster while he pecked the H*** out of me.   Ahh, those were the days!
If you fit into any of the categories below or have earned the top Scout Award in a country that has a different name for it, please let me know. AND, I don't think anyone would take offense with your lettimg me know ON LIST.

If we have enough who hold the awards, I'll be glad to host a Swap honoring your achievement.

Eagle Scout - USA - Pete Gramp, Eddie Dillon
Explorer Silver Award - USA
King's Scout - UK
Queen's Venture Award - Canada
Queen's Scout - Australia
Gold Award - Girl Scouts - USA

I always hear adults refer to themselves as a "former", or I used to be an Eagle Scout, King's Scout, etc.  I always correct them for once an Eagle, always an Eagle or King's or Qeen's Scout or any of the others around the world. Your achievement is something that only 2% of all Scouts ever realize.   I can tell you numerous stories about Eagles, Kings, Queens and the outstanding things they've done for humanity through what they learned in Scouting.

Some on the Lists that I already know are Eagles are Pete Gramp and Eddie Dillon, and both of them are role models for the kids following in their footsteps.  BTW, both are Fly Fishing Merit Badge Instructors for Scouts in their old troop.

Lemme Hear From YOU!
