Nick,
you are right, aproaching the evening here in Europe, work finished and crazy ideas surfacing.
We had this 2 years ago (or was it 3, forgot totally, burppp.) such a swap. You find the details under
http://rzillmann.tripod.com/swap18/swap18.htm

I'm not anouncing this swap, just an idea and the hunt for someone who might be interested to host it.

No, of course not. Haven't got the beer delivered yet. :)

I'm not sure if I understand how the actual swap works yet. (I mean the
regular fly swap.) Still a rookie surrounded by veterans. But if I have
understood this idea correct, it sounds like a fun addiction to it...
Rephrase: Fun thing to add to it.

Is this something that will be "launched" very soon? I would like to
participate...but I would also like to know more about what I'm
participating in. With that I also mean a regular swap.

/Nick

mne: Re: SV: [VFB] Finally!!!- Nick --- TUI and Mess Swap proposal

Nick, Don and List,
sorry for a late comment an this. I was on customer site for a couple of times and was unable to run through all threads while home. And the subject line on this didn't made me to read it earlier. A proof that we should be look a bit more on the subject lines and alter them.....

Anyway, Don's idea with the TUI swap and the mess swap sounds good.

Maybe we do a double swap with 2 swap-meisters:
a) a TUI swap (Prost)
b) a resulting mess swap.

swap b (the messy one) does not deal with the mess after drinking a couple of beers or coffees, it is about the mess at your tying desks after tying the mess swap flies.

If we can find someone in the US who runs the TUI swap (Keith!!! - ok, is from the UK), I will do the Mess Swap again.

Rules:

The TUI swap master would do the usual swap with the flies, and I get a pic of the participants showing their bench after the work is done. A bottle/glass of your favorite drink, that influenced the fly and tying should be on the bench as well.

I'll make a pdf dokument, showing all flies, the recipes and the benches on which the flies were tied. If I get coasters ore beer mats I would add scans of them as well. Maybe we can add a pic of the tyer.

I would not distribute this document outside the swappers, Unlockers no allowed! The flies and recipes can be shown on my webpage though.

Whatdoyo'allthink?

Rene
