Don, just to add to what Martin wrote, the bottle tubes are shorter and
have a sloped front; this is to angle the wing up. They are called
"bottle" because there is a lip at the front of the tube to prevent the
thread and materials from slipping down the slippery slope. I have an
article on them in the next issue of The Canadian Fly Fisher, due out
any day.
