I, too, have been in many swaps and only been "ripped off" twice. I have some really cool flies, patterns I'd never have thought of but, which when I've used as patterns to tie my own, have been real winners. So I figure that the loss of a dozen or so flies is worth the risk as regards the real possible benefits of a swap. However, when ripped off by a swapmeister, I am careful to keep a record and never enter a swap where he runs the swap again. Joyce
