I told my girlfriend about your little rope-dubbing-the-cat idea. She is
going to England next week... but she's not that sure anymore. ;o)

You meant the dark voiced Veronica with the big bush under her nose, right?
I have read about it on "her" web site and I also use it frequently. Never
tried with the cat hair though, maybe should do that.

Nick,
ask Veronica about rope dub technic. You will be able to dub the cat's hair
(and maybe the cat as well <G>); Rene

We got a cat... and I've tried tying from that one. My girlfriend gave me a
chunk of hair once after brushing it. It looked like she had shaved a
porcupine so it wasn't much to tie with and I terminated the project rather
quickly... obviously too quickly to realize that belly hair is a totally
different thing... which, in that chunk, didn't have a high concentration.
Thanks for the tip/reminder. I will tell her the NEXT time she brushes it...
do the belly part separately and dont mix the chunks.

I know you're talking about synthetics, but here's another idea for you. I
frequently use brushed belly hair from my two cats. Good like it is.
Beeswax your tying thread and apply - instant dubbing. No need to do
anything else with it. My two cat's belly hair is white. You don't like
white - use brushings from other areas on the cat. One of mine is a calico
and the other is gray and black. Both have white bellys and both love to be
brushed. Just ask Ian Mitchell about cat dubbing. He's tied some
mighty
neat flies with hair from his kitties. Don't have a cat . . . .? :-D
