Mark,
Sorry it took me so long to answer your question, but I just got home from a
very long 48 hour shift on the ambulance...  This is the way I was shown by
Al Campbell from FOAL...  ***once you have tied in the peccary hair and
finished the fly, you take needle nose tweezers and gently bend the hair at
the desired locations and cut them to length...  Then take black nail polish
and paint the legs to look like the actual legs of the fly****

I've found that once you paint the legs, they will stay in the position you
want...  no problem...
