Ian Do you prefer to fish the North or the South Island? Where do you fish when you go to the South Island? I've heard they are very strict about your fishing equipment being clean. Have you run into any problems or do you just rent waders there? I also noticed you mentioned squid flies for the lake, is it brackish water? When I pulled up the map it looked like it was in the middle of the North Island. Steve and I have thought of going back again and checking out the fishing. We had a such a great time there but we weren't into fishing at that time. We hiked around Mt Cook. Beautiful streams but it was really cold in late Sept. It was a little warmer up near Rotorua. It was raining while we were there and starting to get green. What is your favorite time of year for fishing New Zealand? Deb
