Hello all,

First let me say since Brian Burgess asked, we are o.k.
We spent 5 hours in the master bathroom on 8/13 waiting for hurricane Charley to pass.
Our house/property only suffered some minor wind damage. We were a day late flying out to Montana as the planes had all left our area.
Brian... there is not one tourist on Ft Myers Beach, Sanibel or Captiva....weird.

We fished the Madison Monday but there was a cold front and a small rain so no hatches. Tues and Wed I took Atlantic Salmon fly tying. Whew, talk about advanced techniques. Thurs we had better luck on the Madison and I tied Thursday night from 6-9. I was bumped from
tying during the day by who knows who wanting to do who knows what. There was a good crowd Thurs. night. I managed to tie 4 flies.
(one flat wing, Deb). I was told not to socialize with the vendors and to pack up promptly at 9. Gee what a serious crowd, maybe they need to tie some tiger mice, eh Don? Friday we fished Indian creek and offshoot of the Madison, south of Ennis. We hiked up a mile and 3/4 up a rock canyon. Very beautiful stream. My husband landed 2 nice fish I missed a couple. I was pretty much exhausted from everything and sat down and watched the stream at the end. Grizzly country but saw no sign of them. Sat we watched all the other tyers. I met Henk V. in person. Now have one of his extended body/cdc/wally wing mayflies, very nice. Somehow Henk got bumped from tying in the afternoon. He could have moved to another spot somewhere but what a hassle. Maybe these people need to join the VFB list... they didn't even thank us. Anyway we met a lot of super nice people and some Whiting pro staffers who want me back next year. I'll try I said. Seems like you also get dropped from their invite list if you don't show up every year.

Well... back home to clean out our moldy fridge as our power was out for 7 days. We still do not have a home phone but our very lucky compared to the people who lost everything. If you wish a $15 video the proceeds go to victims: http://www.water.net/Charley/
