Go to Walmart and get yourself a "Knit Fixer" It is a mini latch hook. Stand a center pheasant tail feather vertical in your vise or some other way. Take a couple of barbs, make one wrap around the shank of the "Knit Fixer' Grab the tag end of the barbs in the Nit Fixer hook and pull through the wrap.(an overhand knot) You can do this all the way down both sides of the stem. This will give you right and left "hopper legs on a stem". Cut off what you need when you need them.

Hey gang, A rare serious post from me.
I'm looking to tie up some hoppers and would like to do some knotted PT legs. I've never tied any myself and would like a little advise on doing them. Do you use any flexcement on them? and is it easier to tie them on the feather vein or off of it?
Any help would be great
