Henk, i've got a friend in Philly, (actually i think he may have moved to N.J.) who makes a really nice Mink Nymph. Try using the underfur for the abdomen, and the gaurd hairs for the thorax. Rib it if you like, and make a wing case out of just about anything, turkey, pheasent tail, whatever. He may also use some of the qaurd hairs for a tail also, (?). I haven't seen the fly in over a year. I think it's basically a case of being confident in "any" fly. If you believe it'll work, it will......... long as your presentation is good. mark......

HI Everybody,

My father-in-law found some mink stoles at an auction and picked them up cheap. He sent them to me assuming I could tie some flies with them. The fur looks to be in good condition. So, anybody know any good mink patterns?

Tadaa... the Minkie. basically a bunny streamer with mink zonker strips.

ANy decent UK site should have a pattern description...
