My choice for 6 flys might change depending on where I planned to fish. Here at home (Great North West) the below listed would be my choices.
1. Griffin Gnat....good general imitation of insects of the order Diptera, also represents midges. 2. PMD ... old style using mallard flank for the post 3. Renegade ... tied per the old Taylor (Beartrack) Williams. 4. Elk Hair Caddis (per Al Troth) & my modifications :-) 5. Red Humpy ... Very good for me as it is easily seen by me in fast water. 6. Chilie Pepper ... If I can not hook up on a dry it is time for the old stand by CP!! never fails and many thanks to Tony Spezio! I have a real problem with selecting only 6 flies. Six patterns is fine by me but I need and fish several different sizes of the above flies. Sometimes I am doing very well and someone shuts the door. Generally if I cut the old fly off and tie on exactly the same pattern in a size smaller, I catch fish?? Can anyone expalin why?? Denny [EMAIL PROTECTED]
