Henk,

On your referenced page you state, "He plans on targeting asp and sea bass
in the near future, "

I know what an asp is in English - a poisonous snake.

In British English it is (also) a predatory fish from the carp family, called Aspius aspius in pseudo-latin science speak ;-) In Dutch it is called Roofblei. It is/was indigenous to the Danube catchment part of western Europe, but has colonized our part (i.e. the Rhine catchment) at an amazing pace, most likely due to the construction of a shipping canal between the Rhine and Danube some 15 years ago. About 10 years ago, the first reports of stray fish started coming in. At this point in time, it is a virtual certainty that a viable selfreplicating population has been established in the entire Rhine delta (i.e. in all of the large rivers in the Netherlands).

Very interesting site. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks ;-)
