Oh, one of those things. We have not had anything like that since, 1988? I think that was the last time I went anywhere for just fun. Jimi
Jimi, that's like when i go to Montana, Idaho, or Arkansas to tye at all
those shows. I get to fish some of the time, but a lot of the time i
"required" to be "on duty." Working vacation, all based around tying, (for
demonstration and or conservation) as an excuse to go fishing, and a
justification for spending all that money to do something i could do by
walking out my front OR back door and not even have to get in my truck. Make
sense now? I didn't think so, LMAO. But it sure is FUN!!!!! mark

FUN it is Jimi, but there's also the satifaction of knowing that your
helping to make a great educational event a success. For instance when i'm
up all night tying for 7 hours straight in the lobby of a hotel, trying to
get people to donate money for conservation and answering scads of questions
about fly tying, conservation, the organization itself, etc., etc. and
trying to do it all without having any beers, so i can stay awake. There's a
lot of satisfaction seeing Joan Wulff walk up say hi and drop a couple
hundred bucks in the kitty. Or some 20 yr. old drop $5 in the kitty. It
means that they appreciate what your doing and want to help. And that they
know, "if you take it for granted, it turns into granit." mark
