Hook: 12-18 2X long nymph hook
Thread: Black or Orange depending on what color you like the fly's head, 6/0 or 8/0 depending on fly size
Weight: lead wire to match hook diameter
Tail: Partridge or Indian Hen fibers
Abdomen: 50/50 mix Rusty Spinner dubbing and Copper Ice Dub
Back: Peacock Herl
Rib: Small Copper wire
Thorax: Peacock
Shellback: Medium Pearl Mylar Tinsel
Legs: Partridge or Indian Hen fibers
Build a flat underbody by securing lead wire to either side of the hook shank.
Tie in tail fibers, copper wire and 1 strand of peacock herl in that order.
Rope dub the rusty spinner/ice dub mix about half way up the hook shank (props to DonO).
Pull the peacock forward across the back of the abdomen and tie down.
Spiral the copper wire forward to secure the peacock (counter-wrapping here keeps the wire from hiding in the dubbing).
Tie in 2 strands of the mylar tinsel on top of the hook in front of the abromen, then 2-4 strands of peacock herl.
Wrap the peacock to form the thorax, leaving room for the head.
Pull the mylar tinsel forward over the back and tie down.
Tie in 3-6 partridge or indian hen fibers on each side of the thorax for legs.
Finish head and whip finish.
I can send people pics off list of this version if antone would like. As best I can tell, the original was tied by Ed Schroeder with a tapered floss abdomen and palmered hackle through the thorax for the legs. A picture can be found at:

In the past I have tied some. If I am not mistaken it had an orange tapered floss body with a Peacock herl head.
If need be, I can look up the recipe
