Any lady knows that you thin nail polish with nail polish remover, ( an acetone based product) available in the same section as the polish at your local Wal-mart. You don't need to buy the fancy stuff that has extra moisturizers in it..in fact, they don't help at all.  Just get the plain old store brand.  But, even more effective, I find, is methyl ethyl ketone..in the paint department. Henk can probably tell us more from the chemical standpoint. Joyce
