Any wetting agent will work. The Photo-Flo deal was Popovich's buddy, Ed
Jaworowski , probably grabbed it out of his darkroom and the legend progressed
from there.
I use synthoprol in water, Dawn Dishwashing liquid also to Deb's point works
excellent too.

You use Photo Flo on your fingers when working with Silicone. It keeps
it
from sticking to your fingers and you can spread and shape the silicone.
Photo Flo is used to clean the chemicals from your photos after
developing,
It's soap. Dawn is a clear dish detergent much like the photo flo and
is
mild. The woman is an amazing photographer so I just followed her
advice.
It worked.

Deb
I knew of pranksters who would put a bottle of photo-flo into a public
fountain. The bubbles from it would spread out like the Eggplant that
Ate
Chicago [This was an old B science fiction movie].
BTW Deb what does Photo-flo do for your flies?
