Ed The boxes come with a piece of cotton in them. I put moth balls behind the cotton. You can also sprinkle the moth crystals in there and then I lay the flies on top of the cotton. The cotton holds them against the glass and they don't move. The box lets light in so if you don't store it in a closet you should be alright with moths. A lot of the moth infestations I've seen are in flies that have been in a drawer or closet where it is dark. The flies I have in these boxes are full dressed salmon flies I haven't had time to frame or flies I purchased from well known tyers that I like to look at. I keep a copy of their business cards signed behind the cotton also. It keeps them safe until I can get around to displaying them in a frame or a glass topped table. Regards, Deb

Deb - how do you mount the flies within the box itself so that they stay in the position you want?

Thanks for the tip. Just got a couple of these Riker Boxes in from fleabay, and they look like they'll do very nicely. They're sturdier and much nicer looking in person than I thought they would be from the fleabay pictures.

very nice flies stored this way and haven't had any problems yet. They sell them on Ebay and Hunters Anglers has them also. I show my more delicate flies this way also when I tie at shows. This keeps them in one piece.
