I use Air-Flo Polyleader Light Trout Clear Floating 5' for nymph fishing and 10' for dry fly fishing.   I attach Rio tippet 5x, 6x, or 7x depending on fly size and fishing conditions.   I use all loop-to-loop connections (leader to fly line and tippet to leader).   George Vincent
