That sounds right Tim. Yeah he's a heck of a guy. I got to tye right next to him during my time slots at Danbury this year, other than when he was doing his classes. I REALLY want to go to Scottland and fish with him one day. Only time i was ever there i sure had no time for fishing of course. And what a shame, cause it stayed light outside all dang night. lol, mark.....

Tony, there'a a fly tyer/Gillie from Scottland who comes over and tyes at Jim Krul's Fly Fishing University Show each year, and he's famous for his Pot Belly Pig fly, LMAO. He gives classes on how to tye it "even." (Remember ole' Snagglepuss?) I'll try to remember his name and let you know who he is. He'd be great for the Sowbug. He's a very nice guy and gives great demos/slide shows. The PBP fly is a salmon fly actually. Maybe he'd like to make the Sowbug someday????? mark

Richard,
I have to use a fast setting epoxy for the Epoxy Minnows I tie. The under body is wrapped with different materials and then the whole body is coated with Epoxy, The Epoxy is really the body as it is shaped like the minnow. The Epoxy is put on the under body real heavy and the fly is shaped by turning the jaws with a rotary vise. You control the shape by the speed or how much you hesitate when turning. The Epoxy has to set up in a short time or you will be cranking the vise for a long time. After it sets up and has it's shape, then it is put on the drying wheel. Am making some now for the "Inshore" Swap.
The 30 minuet epoxy will not do at all. Tried it only once, the minnow looked like a pot bellied pig.
