Is the gentleman's name Peter Whittingham?  He ties a fly called the Pot 
Bellied Pig that resembles what you describe, and is a Ghillie from Scotland as 
you describe.  I met him during our honeymoon to Scotland, if I recall it was 
in the North-east region, around Aberdeen or Inverness, tying in a fly-shop... 
Is this the same gentleman?
