Blems are blemished blanks. Most time it is in the uneven color. The fish don't care at all.

Go for it, you can pick up Blem Blanks from several sources very reasonable. I have found them for as little as 15.00

Hey Tony, and everyone,
As soon as I get the first paycheck from the new job (start monday), I'll see what can be done... in the meantime, the local library's ILL department is my new best friend ;) Just curious, is "Blem Blanks" a company, or does it stand for "blemished blanks"?
Thanks for the info - great help!
Pete - PS - will have to see if any locals make rods, local TU meeting is the monday after Vallentine's day...
