If we aren't too much of a purist to admit it, many of us fly fishers 
started out as a bait fisherman, either cane pole and a worm as a boy, 
or casting / spinning rod. There's an old quote that I can't quite 
remember about former bait casters having a leg up on fly fishermen who 
never bait fished.  Maybe one of you will remember it and share.
