Are you planning to fish? You can go just south of there and fish the Manistee (Tippy Dam is great) or the famed Pere Marquette. If you go to the Pere Marquette, stop in Baldwin. Two shops there, both on 37 - Johnson's Lodge (Orvis, so-so http://www.pmlodge.com/), and Baldwin Bait-and-Tackle (http://www.fishbaldwin.com/). The guys at BBT take care of the bait crowd and cater well to us fly people. The heart of the flies only section is right there.
