All my rods are unexpensive ones, most of the rods I fish are home
made. I usually build on pac bay blanks, one has a Dorber blank. These
are inexpensive components. I don't think, that a blank (or rod) which
costs 5 times more, gives me 5 times more satifaction on streamside ,
or will cast 5 times longer.
Same counts for reels, as long as I do not need the drag. (For Salmon,
pike, ...)
DIfferent is the situation with hackle, quality hackle like from Dennis
or Whiting gives you definitely a lot more fun tying a fly.

Maybe the same with waders....
