This is where the "Hooks for the Fly" book comes in handy. You have to be careful that the hook does NOT have a Limerick or similar bend. This bend takes a real sharp turn just behind the barb and it is impossible to get the correct size bead around. Aberdeen, Sproat and Perfect bends should all work OK.
