OK, a bit familiar with the Perkiomen, but I fish it later in the year when the smallies are hitting.  There are some wild fish in the Perkiomen but I believe the stretch is above Green Lane.  Surprised you didn't pick up anything in the Perkiomen, I know they stock it. Pickering I've fished a couple of times in FFO stretch.Have you tried Valley Creek yet no stockers there.  Probably your best shot at getting a 20+ wild brown though they're hard to find.  A lot of dinks but plenty of fish in the 8-12 inch range.

I started on the Perkiomen below Green Lane state park (loads of
nymphs, but didn't catch a blessed thing), then moved down (south) on
Rt. 29 from Schwenksville to Collegeville and caught a lil' sucker/
white split-mouth right at the bridge (Germantown Pike, RT 29, Ridge
Pk., etc all near there in collegeville, where 29 makes the odd
dog-leg turns), then a few tributaries of the Pickering going down
through and in Phoenixville, and then the main Pickering Creek (a
little above Malvern I suppose it is?) where the Pickering creek
crosses under Rt. 29.  The trout (albeit 8" or so) was caught on
Pickering creek, about a half- mile upstream from the Rt 29 bridge.
Access is from that bridge on 29, staying and wading on the far/
right-hand-when-looking-upstream side.  Beware a canadian goose nest
at the top of the rock-pile as you head around the bend just above the
Rt. 29 bridge... that goose isn't too friendly... ;)
Tight wraps,
Pete
