I went up to East Canyon reservoir yesterday after school and really enjoyed the outing even though the fishing was poor (my fishing buddy and I only managed to catch one fish each) It was good to be out on the water under blue and sunny skies
I attached my 3 horsepower Tanaka outboard to my kick boat which added to the fun. I found I could tow my friend's kick boat by having him hang on to my anchor rope. I would haul him up wind a good distance and then we would just let the wind blow us back, fishing as we went.
It worked great! The only problem was that the propeller would lift a bit out of the water with each wave if I tried going too fast. But we were in no hurry and took a slower pace. Later in the evening the wind died down and I was really able to make a wake running the motor at top speed.
This was kind of a "test run" for the motor and the first time I tried towing someone. It would work very well on Strawberry since the place I like to fish has a prevailing breeze which always blows you back in the direction of the launch site.
Let's set a date to go up together. Next week looks bad since it is the last "real" week of school and a lot is going on. Next Saturday and Memorial Day I already have commitments. But Friday, June 3rd, is the first day of summer vacation and I would like nothing better to start it on Strawberry. Weather willing, why don't we plan to meet up in Heber around 7:00 AM? I'll bring my extra pontoon boat.
Or, if you are really anxious to get out I can meet you at my home any evening around 3:00 pm and we can hit one of the local reservoirs near my place: East Canyon, Lost Creek, Echo, Rockport , Smith Morehouse, Pineview and Causey are all an hour or less from my house. If we are in the water by 5:00 we can enjoy good evening fishing until 8:30 or 9:00.

year with finding water to fish.

Hey all, My family is planning a vacation to Yellowstone in late summerIa vacation!) and I am looking for some fairly inexpensive (<$150) breathable chest waders. The Hodgman Wadelite waders fit the bill.Iwas wondering if anyone has any positive or negative comments about them on or off list or has any other suggestions. I am getting so excitedcan hardly stand to be around myself!
Thanks in advance, Bruce Whittle [EMAIL PROTECTED]
