Del, I've used a "Double Uni-Knot" to attach tippet to leader for several years now and have NEVER had a knot give way... Yes I've had my leader break at the knot, not because of the knot, but because I attach a "BB" removable split shot above the knot which, as we all know, has a tendancy of pinching the leader, causing the leader to lose some of its tensil strength... But that happens very seldom and only if I'm not careful pinching the split shot on... I know, everyone has their own way of doing things, and to them it's the "best" way to do it... It's just a matter of what knot YOU feel more comfortable with tying and have confidence in it holding...
