Not necessarily in that order.....
    Theresa, Amanda and Amanda's friend Lisa shanghaied me today... and it
was Fun. They insisted that we go down to the Lakewood inlet of Brantley so
they could swim and I could fish. The reason they call it "Fishing" and not
"Catching" is obvious. I had nary a nibble, take or even a swirl, but, I go
wet, (yes, I tested gravity while wading), but found out I could still cast
and just practiced a bit. Was good to wet a line, even if the fish were not
interested. Next weekend they want to go to Bottomless Lakes so we can do
the same. I am looking forward to it. Will report when we are back.
    Now for the cooking part. A friend shared his recipe for grilled burgers
with me. I am accustom to adding oatmeal to cheep ground meat, but, he uses
instant potato flacks, 3/4 cup to the pound. Works great, extends the meat
and helps them to hold together. Have about 8 of them on the grill tonight
for dinner. Maybe soon we can have a fish dinner.... Or not.
Hand is getting looked at at the VA surgical unit May 9th, so we will see
what they say about it and when we may expect to be able to use it for
something other than a paper weight.
