Last fall I had problems with taking a Renzetti Traveler. I originally had it with checked luggage but the bag weighed 51.5 lbs and they wanted to charge a fee for being over 50 lbs. I decided the vise and table top base would be the smallest heavy item to put in my carry on. The screeners at Denver saw it in the scan and pulled me aside and opened the bag to inspect it. The person screening me didn't know what it was and luckily another screener was a tier and took over.

I anticipated the same thing leaving Dayton, Ohio and had the vise put together and put it in the tub with keys, belt, etc. The screeners pulled me aside wanting to know what it was, less of a delay this time.

I'm glad I left the hooks and other supplies in the checked luggage.

Hello!
I'm back...

Luckily I had no problems with the TSA in either airport. I brought along
one of my full dressed salmon flies to show them just in case.
It was a great trip back home and I hope I won't let so much time pass
before I return again. I'll try to send a trip report for Roscoe later
today.
