A swap is where you tie x amount of flies (one per entrant, fly of their own design or an established pattern that is appropriate to the theme) send them to a central location (Swapmiester) then he sends one of each fly to the participants.     Example:   My next swap will be a 'Gill swap (I think). I am going to have 10 slots. 10 tyers will tie 10 flies, myself included. The flies will all be sent to me and when all sets are in I will send one of each fly to each tyer. Customarily each participant sends 1-2$$ to help cover shipping and handling. I don't ask for it (I do enjoy it when I get extra flies though). Geez, I just got a new catalog last week, and you better have some DEEP pockets to order from them.... I guess ya get what ya pay for, but it is beyond my wallet's capacity You ought to take a look at some of the other catalogs (Orvis for one) you want to talk about deep pockets, LOL                                                       Del
