Joan (lady Wullf) calls it "Picking Leaves" and has her students do it out in front of a tree. They take target practice at all the different places on a tree. It's great practice. First you do it at say 20 ft. then 30, then 40, etc. Another thing i would recommend y'all to get ifin you need practice and live in the north where winter is serious, is a Fly-O. It's an indoors rod and yarn line that Wulff Products sells for practice. Really works great for imbedding proper machanics into your brain. The stroke is exactly the same as you would use with a regular rig, only your dealing with a very short rod and a length of yarn. Perfect for the off season to keep sharp. mark
