Guys, i have had Guineas all over my place for the last 5 yrs. They do a VERY good job on the ticks and mosquitos. Currently i'm out of birds, but will be getting a few more shortly. I have the feathers from many of my birds and they are wonderful for tying. At one point i had 250 birds of all kinds, Guineas, layin' hens, roosters, ducks, pheasents, turkeys, .........but the chores were takin'4 to 5 hours a day. So after 4 yrs. i cut way back. Fortunately i have a LOT of the hackle from those birds.........mostly loose because i would pluck them........didn't like to skin them out. I did skin out a few of my rabbits, and that fur is also very nice. As for the goats, well........let's just say i didn't have the heart to kill ém. The cats also provide lots of dubbing, as do the dogs. The farmer John thing was fun while it lasted, but hey........you gotta fish sometime. lmao, mark

I have a neighbor down the road a bit that has pretty spotted peacocks
according to another friend of mine. When I took a drive down there they
turned out to be what I suspected... guinea fowl. They wouldn't be allowed
in my neighborhood we're governed by an association but I'll bet that's why
they have them down the road. Too bad the wild turkeys don't take care of
the ticks also. Maybe I should just get the guinea fowl and tell the
neighbors they're wild. :0) They can't be louder than my parrots.

GREAT Idea!! Except neighbors in town really don't like guineas.
One of the noisiest birds alive!
