This brings up a question I have had since I checked out some library books
Tuesday, but haven't gotten to read them yet.. Three of the books are circa
1970's... Is Flyfishing, type flies, rods, lines, leader and/or tippet
material.. etc stayed the same enough for these books to be good for a
newbie like myself??? Or should I buy the new books to learn the latest
stuff??? And if it has changed a lot, how do I tell which is still in use
and which is not, without putting out a ton of money on all new
books???Thanks in advance to anybody who can answer this.. Chuck who is
goin fishing the next THREE days in a row iffen it don't storm
Woooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooo

Subject: [VFB] My Tom Nixon book arrived!!

And all I can say is wow...

In my mind I was expecting a book of patterns (kind of like
stewart/allen's flies for bass & panfish). Boy was I wrong. What an
awesome book! He has a ton of great information in there!! Looks very
well written as well. I can't wait to really get into it. Have to
finish "Fisherman's Coast" first though. It was in great shape as
well. It's a first edition (1968); looks like first printing (no note
of a subsequent run).

Along with it I also got 4 other books:

Flies by J.Edison Leonard 1960
America's Favorite Fishing - Angling for Panfish by F.Philip Rice 1964
Fishing Flies and Fly Fishing by William F. Blades 1951
The Dry Fly and Fast Water by Geo M.L. LaBranche 1967

They all look pretty interesting as well. Needless to say I'm pretty
pleased with this ebay purchase!

Just wanted to share.

Ken
