With help from a wind puff I once put a big Montana in my neck, and I certainly didn't enjoy that. My friend had to press it through the skin again to be able to cut it on the outside. I sure wished I had a barbless hook then... but at least I had a friend there to help me and I was grateful for that.
 
... though I must say, after seing the video clip, I'm grateful that I hit where I did. I was young and hadn't really realized the MAIN purpose for sun glasses (or glasses) when fly fishing, so I wasn't wearing any.

Man, that hurt just looking at it.... I too, never leave home without safety or sun glasses, cause I HAVE hooked my ear before, but that wasn't nothing like this would be... Didn't say if the person was blinded, but if not totally I bet partially.... Chuck
