Patrick is AWESOME in his nymphs! He's quite creative with furs
-
something which few actually do, what with all of the synthetics
out
now. As you said, his Red Fox Squirel nymphs are something to
behold,
in my opinion. One material (two, if the tail and body furs
are
separated) is all it takes for his one of many nymphs, and it
has
never let me down! Very good tyer - can't stop raving about
his
work!!
On a different (but tying- related) note, our rabbit is
shedding. A
lot. Like, I'm at work now, picking clumps of shed fur off
my shirt,
and I wasn't even on the same FLOOR as the rabbit this
morning!
Anyone who wants reddish-brown- tipped with grey 'stem' guard
hair
from a rabbit (looks like red- fox squirel, only longer and
less
stiff/ 'fluffier') that is obviously off the hide, but in clumps
(you
MAY be able to get it to stack, though good luck) just write me with
a
snail-mail address. For the curious, he is a 12 pound 8 ounce
New
Zealand breed rabbit - and they can get bigger than that! So
anyhow,
free fur (off the hide) for the asking. Currently have 1 and a
half
1-gallon freezer bags stuffed (yes, compressed and all) with
the
stuff. He's shedding his winter coat now, so the guard hairs are
a
tad longer and thicker.
Well, I have to get into the lab now - off
to work...
Tight lines,
Pete
