AH... And this is why we can all give you advice but you really need to try
it out for yourself. I have small hands and I didn't have any problems with
the LAW vise... I loved it. I know Kim Boal uses it also and she really
likes it. Vises are a very personal choice. We spend a lot of time tying
on it and we all have different habits when we tie flies. When you start
looking at the more expensive ones make sure they fit your style of tying
before you buy it.

I know that there are many who really like the LAW vise..but for me, as I
tied on the one Hans brought, it was a disaster..too big..to large a space
on the back of the vise where you couldn't rest your hand ( if you have
small hands as I have) so very tiring to tie on, and having to adjust with
the thumb screw for every fly, I wouldn't even consider it. But, I love a
clamp mechanism and want to be able to rest my small left hand on top of the

vise and still reach the jaws. The LAW vise is built for men with big hands.

As previously mentioned..a vise is a very personal thing and you really need

to try it before you buy it. Know also, that with any new thing, you need to

tie 100 flies before you will really know how to use and get the feel of
your vise.
I have a Danvise for my traveling vise..just throw it in the trunk with
an old Orvis flytying bag of stuff. It is tuff and works well on the
streamside. Joyce
