One of my concerns is what you mention.  BTW, that floating weed is a great indicator of where to cast if you can find it much any more.  But you and DonO know that stuff.

If you like to eat kelp, alaria and other sea greens, I found a great source in Maine I'll be happy to provide off-list.  You laugh.  Try drying in a warm oven and eat it like a snack.

Back to fly tying/fishing.  I've noted a deadly set is to tie an Adams with wingers on top and drop a Killer Caddis® (Byard Miller) off about 12-18" using floro.  This set-up is awesome.

Both kelp and sargassum are brown algae so maybe they are just calling
the kelp sargasso?
Read about how the Sea of Cortez was over shrimped and overfished
commercially. 9 pounds of sea life destroyed for every pound of shrimp
harvested. Unfortunate.
