I took some cotton balls, and took one of my wife's smallest Crochet Hooks, and when you jab it into the cotton balls, then pull it out, the hook grabs just a LITTLE bit of the cotton at a time.....And, I dyed some tan colored by boiling them in used tea and coffee grounds... Chuck

The question is not CAN it be used, but HOW it can be used. ;) In my opinion, cotton- balls make wonderful dubbing when teased apart by two pet "slicker brushes" or an old coffee grinder (preferably one your significant other doesn't value...) Oh, and they take up dyes fairly well, besides! If you prefer a more "spikey" nymph dubbing, you can add a drop or two (to 5 or 6 cotton-balls) of diluted head-cement or VERY dilute (with remover) nail- polish, then tease apart in a coffee- grinder before the cement dries. Again, only do this in a VERY old coffee grinder that your significant other doesn't value... is it obvious that I'm in the dog house until I buy another coffee grinder? ;) Tight wraps, Pete
